In the Intensive Professional English program, courses are designed to develop your reading, writing, listening, speaking, and presentation skills, as well as to instill greater self-confidence so you can continue to advance in your chosen field. You'll attend academic programming between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. during the weekdays, which may include lectures, hands-on activities, group discussions, guest lectures, field experiences, and workshops. In addition to classroom instruction, you'll complete assignments individually at home, study and complete projects with classmates, and participate in experiences throughout the Washington, D.C., community. Each week, you'll have opportunities to participate in the intensive English program social activities, where you can apply the language skills you are learning in class, meet students in other programs, and practice your English in comfortable social settings.
You can enroll in one term only or two consecutive 8-week terms to experience Module A and Module B in any sequence. The specific module offered each term depends on enrollment, but is typically Module A in Fall I and Spring I, and Module B in Fall II and Spring II.
