Leslie Sheen

Prof. Leslie Sheen has dedicated her career to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages.

It is her great joy to welcome the world to her classroom! Prof. Sheen has 27 years of instructional experience in a variety of settings both in the US and abroad. She has skillfully delivered instruction in online asynchronous, remote synchronous, hybrid and traditional face-to-face contexts. At Georgetown's School of Continuing Studies she serves in the English Language Center as Assistant Teaching Professor in the Intensive English Program.

Prof. Sheen utilizes a student-centered, communicative approach to teaching. She skillfully creates a safe learning environment where students are empowered to take risks and make mistakes as they explore and grapple with English. While she regularly teaches a variety of courses focused on reading, writing and communicative skills, she has a particular affinity for explaining grammar.
