To make applying as simple and straightforward as possible, we've put together a checklist of everything you need to complete your application. If you have any questions along the way, please contact guELC@georgetown.edu.

Deadlines and Program Dates

Fall Session

Classes begin September 16, 17, and 21

Classes end November 14, 16, and 18

Spring Session

Classes begin February 3, 4, and 8

Classes end April 2, 4, and 6

Summer Session

Classes begin May 16, 18, and 19

Classes begin May 16, 18, and 19

Step1

Registration

This is an open-enrollment program. No application is required, but you must take an English proficiency assessment to determine the best course section for your skill level. Course registration is complete when your payment is processed. You will receive a confirmation email when your payment is received. Please retain the payment confirmation message for your records.

Step2

Language Proficiency Testing

Our enrollment management team will contact you to schedule your assessment test. Testing takes place at Georgetown University’s main campus prior to class start dates. Faculty from the English Language Center will carefully review your results and place you in the best course(s) for your skill level.
