As the health and well being of our students and community is important right now, Georgetown English Language Center classes will be operating in a remote learning format—using Zoom video conferencing to mirror a traditional classroom with regular interaction between professors and students—through August 2021. Please refer to Georgetown's Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resource Center for the latest updates and guidance.

This two-week course offers an opportunity to practice conversational English with other participants in structured speaking activities led by an experienced instructor in the Intensive English Program at Georgetown University. Participants will first be introduced to common discussion strategies such as offering an opinion, asking for clarification, and agreeing and disagreeing. Then participants will use these strategies in pairs and small groups as they engage in a variety of speaking activities on topics of interest, including current events, social issues, culture, politics, and more. Instructor feedback will be given on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation during each class. YouTube, audio recordings, and online tools for grammar and vocabulary will provide support for some activities.

You can choose one session to fit your schedule (9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. EST) Monday–Friday from July 19–30.
